Bills decline to offer Owens contract

Football Betting Lines

02/27/2010 - Orchard Park, NY (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - The Buffalo Bills have decided not to offer three players new contracts, including wide receiver Terrell Owens.

Wide receiver Josh Reed and defensive end Ryan Denney were also not offered contracts, making all three unrestricted free agents.

Buffalo had signed Owens last offseason after he was released by the Dallas Cowboys, but the Bills' passing game did not get off the ground after injuries forced them to play with several different quarterbacks.

Owens, 36, finished with 55 catches for 829 yards and five touchdowns in his one season with the Bills. The 14-year veteran will be free to sign with any team once the free agency period begins on March 5.

A six-time Pro Bowl selection, Owens has 1,006 career receptions for 14,951 yards and 144 touchdowns. He ranks sixth all-time in career catches, third all-time in receiving yardage and third all-time in receiving scores.

Reed, 29, had played all eight of his NFL seasons with the Bills. In 2009, he made 27 catches for 291 yards and one TD.

Likewise, Denney had spent his eight NFL seasons exclusively with Buffalo. In 16 games this past season, he recorded 27 tackles and two sacks.
