Angels place Figgins on DL

05/30/2008 - Anaheim, CA (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - The Los Angeles Angels placed third baseman Chone Figgins on the 15-day disabled list with a right hamstring irritation on Friday.

The move is retroactive to May 22. Anaheim activated infielder Howie Kendrick from the 15-day DL to take Figgins spot on the roster.

This is the second DL stint for Figgins this season, after missing time with a strain in the same hamstring earlier this month. Figgins played in only one game since returning from his original injury, a May 21 4-3 win over the Toronto Blue Jays.

Figgins is hitting .306 with 11 stolen bases and 19 runs scored in 33 games this season.

Kendrick is hitting .500 (18-for-36) with six runs scored and four RBI in 10 games this season.
